Around 700 employees from engineering, product management, manufacturing, logistics, sales, and services work closely together here: engineers continuously develop new solutions, while the production and logistics teams ensure that the sensors arrive at customers on time and in Baumer quality.

Help shape the next generation of optical sensors. As part of a succession plan, you will take on a key role in developing innovative solutions and accompany projects from the concept phase through simulations and feasibility studies to successful implementation in series production.

What I drive

• Development and simulation of optical systems for industrial sensors
• Design and specification of optical components such as lenses and filters
• Evaluation and characterisation of optoelectronic transmitting and receiving components
• Participation in preliminary projects, feasibility studies, and product developments
• Support of industrial engineering and production in optical matters

What it takes

• University degree in photonics, physics, or a comparable field
• Experience in the development and simulation of optical systems, ideally with ZEMAX
• Good knowledge of optoelectronic components such as lasers, LEDs, and photodetectors
• Interest in interdisciplinary issues from optics, electronics, and mechanics
• Knowledge of Python is an advantage
• Independent, structured working style and strong team spirit
• Very good German and good English skills
