About this position

On behalf of various renowned clients in the Bern area, we are looking for a committed, qualified and digitally savvy individual in the field of finance and accounting. In this versatile specialist role, you will take responsibility for the operational day-to-day business and actively contribute to the optimisation of financial processes.

Your main tasks

• General ledger & subsidiary ledgers: Independent management of the general ledger as well as reconciliation and control of subsidiary ledgers (accounts payable, accounts receivable and asset accounting).

• Financial statement preparation: Timely preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements according to Swiss law (OR).

• Contact person: Professional contact for auditors, authorities and internal interfaces.

• VAT & taxes: Independent preparation of periodic VAT returns and preparation of tax documents.

• Liquidity & planning: Support in cash management, liquidity planning as well as participation in budgeting and forecasts.

• Process optimisation: Active participation in the further development of internal financial processes and digitalisation projects (e.g. ERP systems).

• Education: Successfully completed commercial basic training with a specialised further qualification (e.g. accounting clerk, federal specialist certificate in finance and accounting or near completion).

• Professional experience: Several years of solid practical experience in finance and accounting within a Swiss corporate environment.

• Closing expertise: Experience in independently preparing monthly and annual financial statements.

• IT skills: Proficient use of MS Excel as well as solid experience with common ERP systems (e.g. SAP, Abacus, Navision or Messerli).

• Working style: Independent, precise and structured working style with a strong affinity for numbers.

• Languages: Confident German language skills in spoken and written form; additional language skills (e.g. English or French) are an advantage.
