Role:
On behalf of the client, we are looking for an experienced Civil Engineer in Urban Drainage / Hydropower for demanding infrastructure and renewal projects in the energy sector. Your professional focus is on urban drainage, drainage planning, and water protection for existing and future hydropower plants. You develop technical concepts, design the necessary structural measures, and depending on the project, take on the project or subproject management from conception to implementation. The role combines civil engineering, hydraulic engineering, and hydropower and involves close collaboration with specialist planners, authorities, and executing companies.
Responsibilities:
Independent handling of demanding tasks in urban drainage and drainage planning for hydropower and infrastructure facilities
Analysis and assessment of existing drainage systems as well as development of technically and economically suitable renovation and renewal measures
Creation of drainage, sewerage, and water protection concepts taking into account project-specific requirements
Design of structural measures from the concept and variant phase to tendering and realisation
Assumption of project or subproject management including responsibility for quality, costs, and deadlines
Dimensioning and technical assessment of drainage systems, pipes, shafts, retention and discharge systems
Coordination and technical leadership of external engineering and planning offices as well as executing companies
Participation in interdisciplinary hydraulic engineering and hydropower projects, especially in the renewal of existing power plant infrastructures
Coordination with internal departments, authorities, associations, and other stakeholders as well as support of necessary approval procedures
Ensuring compliance with relevant SIA and VSA guidelines, water protection regulations, and technical standards
Conducting surveys and inspections as well as technical support during implementation at various plant locations in Switzerland
Qualifications:
Completed studies as Civil Engineer ETH/FH/TU, Environmental Engineer ETH/FH/TU or Cultural Engineer ETH/FH/TU
Solid expertise in urban drainage, drainage planning, and water protection
Broad technical understanding of construction, ideally complemented by knowledge in hydraulic engineering, hydropower, or infrastructure construction
Experience in designing drainage systems as well as knowledge of relevant VSA and SIA guidelines
Experience in project or subproject management of construction or infrastructure projects is an advantage
Very good German language skills spoken and written; French skills are an advantage
Willingness for project-related assignments within Switzerland
