ETH Zurich is one of the world’s leading universities in research and teaching. The Procurement & Export Services department supports researchers, departments and central units in implementing demanding procurements economically, legally compliant and sustainably.
For our Purchasing Coordination section, we are looking for an experienced and committed purchasing professional. In this versatile role, you will be responsible for complex procurement projects with a focus on services and other demanding service categories. As a strategic sparring partner, you will accompany our internal stakeholders in procurement projects from needs analysis to successful contract conclusion, thus making a direct contribution to the excellence of research, teaching and operations.
Job Description
- You independently manage complex procurement projects from needs analysis through the development of procurement strategy to contract conclusion.
- You plan and lead public tenders and ensure an economical, legally compliant and transparent procedure.
- You advise departments, research groups and central units on strategic procurement issues and jointly develop sustainable procurement and contract solutions.
- You conduct demanding negotiations with national and international suppliers and are responsible for the commercial aspects of contract design.
- You manage and further develop assigned procurement categories and supplier relationships with regard to economy, quality, sustainability and risk management.
- You analyse procurement markets, identify optimisation and innovation potentials and derive concrete recommendations for action.
- You actively drive the further development of procurement processes, methods and digital solutions.
Profile
- University or university of applied sciences degree in business administration or a comparable field and several years of solid professional experience in strategic purchasing, project purchasing or category management.
- Proven experience in independently managing complex procurement projects and negotiations.
- Strong ability to advise a wide range of stakeholders, reconcile interests and develop viable solutions.
- Good knowledge of contract design and professional supplier management.
- Experience with public tenders is an advantage.
- Interest in sustainability, digitalisation and modern procurement solutions.
- Fluent German and English skills; French skills are welcome.
- Analytical strength, initiative, integrity as well as a pragmatic and solution-oriented working style.
