Role:
On behalf of the client, we are looking for an experienced professional as Construction Manager Tunnel and Infrastructure Construction for technically demanding infrastructure projects throughout Switzerland. You will take on key tasks in local site management and ensure the proper implementation regarding quality, costs, deadlines, and safety. The focus is on coordinating project participants, supervising complex construction work, and technical and administrative project management. The position offers a challenging environment in engineering, infrastructure, and tunnel construction with the opportunity to gradually take on additional project responsibility.
Responsibilities:
Assuming local site management for demanding projects in tunnel, underground, and infrastructure construction
Monitoring and controlling construction execution regarding quality, costs, deadlines, and occupational safety
Coordinating construction companies, specialist planners, experts, and other project participants during the execution phase
Checking construction services for compliance with execution plans, specifications, contracts, and technical requirements
Leading and recording construction, coordination, and project meetings and following up on agreed measures
Supporting tendering, awarding, and change order management as well as technical assessment of contractor services
Performing measurement, performance, and invoice controls and assisting with cost and contract controlling
Coordinating and supervising construction processes, staging, and scheduling in complex infrastructure projects
Ensuring compliance with relevant SIA standards, Swiss construction regulations, and project-specific quality requirements
Conducting and supporting acceptances, defect management, and commissioning as well as documenting completed work
Taking over technical and administrative project responsibility for defined subprojects and work packages
Qualifications:
Completed studies as civil engineer FH or ETH, ideally with a specialisation in structural engineering, infrastructure, or underground construction
Several years of professional experience in site management of infrastructure, civil engineering, or tunnel construction projects
Solid knowledge in construction execution, scheduling, cost, and quality control
Experience with tendering, contracts, change order management, measurement, and billing
Good knowledge of relevant SIA standards and Swiss construction regulations
Good German language skills spoken and written; Italian, French, or other language skills are an advantage
Willingness for project-related assignments on construction sites within Switzerland
