The Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition Service manages, on diagnostic and non-surgical therapeutic levels, patients suffering from diseases of the digestive tract, liver, bile ducts and pancreas, taking into account the services provided by other HUG departments. It provides interventional endoscopic, percutaneous and transhepatic procedures for the aforementioned organs. It actively participates in the Hepato-Biliary and Pancreatic Diseases Centre: a reference centre in Switzerland. More than 1000 cases are discussed there annually. It manages patients suffering from liver, bile duct and pancreatic diseases. These often complex cases require the opinion of several specialists.
You ensure the entire reprocessing process of medical devices, from reception to storage, including pre-treatment, cleaning and disinfection. You handle the reprocessing of endoscopes, notably the use of endoscope washer-disinfectors (EWD), as well as the preparation and dilution of disinfectant products, strictly adhering to procedures and equipment traceability.
You participate in the maintenance and tidying of examination rooms to guarantee a clean, organised and functional environment for the smooth running of examinations.
You have the professionalism and tact necessary to inform the interlocutors of the interventional rooms in case of questions or problems with the equipment.
You know how to adapt to unforeseen events and workload variations thanks to your flexibility, organisational skills and ability to manage priorities.
You are aware of the responsibilities incumbent upon you and the importance of your actions towards your interlocutors and patients.
This process is part of good practices and respects the quality policy implemented in the service.
Qualifications
You hold a Federal VET Diploma (CFC) as a Medical Device Technologist or an equivalent qualification with at least 1 year of experience in hospital sterilisation.
You have a good command of spoken and written French (minimum B2 level required).
You have a sense of rigour in following procedures, are reactive, demonstrate autonomy and have a keen sense of priorities.
Your interpersonal skills, team spirit and sense of service allow you to work and collaborate easily within a multidisciplinary team (doctors, caregivers, sterilisation, PCI and biomedical).
You are comfortable in demanding environments and know how to demonstrate adaptability, team spirit, self-control and physical endurance.
