Role:
On behalf of the client, we are looking for a specialist as Geomatics Technician GIS / Utility Cadastre for a Swiss energy and utility company. You will be responsible for the collection and updating of utility and geodata for electricity, gas, heat, and telecommunications and ensure high data quality in the GIS. A key focus is on an upcoming GIS migration, optimisation of system interfaces, and further development of digital data flows. The position combines classic geomatics with modern GIS applications and data management within a versatile energy and network infrastructure.
Responsibilities:
Carrying out surveying and measurement work for lines and facilities of the media electricity, gas, heat, and telecommunications
Recording, maintaining, and ongoing updating of utility cadastres for electricity, gas, heat, as well as HFC/fibre infrastructures
Preparation, checking, and provision of geodata for internal departments, external partners, and other stakeholders
Ensuring consistent GIS data quality as well as control and cleaning of existing data sets
Assisting in the preparation and implementation of a GIS migration including data checking, data cleaning, and transfer
Optimising data flows and interfaces between GIS and other technical or administrative applications
Processing and maintaining line, facility, and network documentation within the GIS environment
Creating plans, map excerpts, and geodata analyses for planning, operation, and project work
Supporting the further development of the GIS, geodata models, and digital processes
Contributing to the standardisation and automation of GIS workflows and data processes
Taking on additional professional responsibility in the further development of GIS services and system landscape
Qualifications:
Completed training as a Geomatics Technician EFZ or comparable training with a focus on geoinformation or surveying
Initial professional experience in the updating of utility cadastres, ideally for electricity, gas, heat, as well as HFC/fibre
Good user knowledge of GIS systems, preferably VertiGIS, as well as Microsoft 365
Knowledge of geodata management, data migration, and GIS interfaces is an advantage
Experience with surveying, line documentation, and geodata preparation in the supply or infrastructure environment
Fluent German language skills in spoken and written form
Driving licence category B
