Heavy Vehicle Mechanic

To meet the needs of one of our clients, a transport company based in Vaud, we are looking for a heavy vehicle mechanic with Swiss experience.

Within the workshop, you ensure the maintenance, diagnosis and repair of heavy vehicles, respecting safety standards and the quality requirements of the manufacturer. You ensure the proper functioning and reliability of the vehicles to guarantee their availability and safety on the road.

Your main responsibilities

• Carry out routine and periodic maintenance of heavy vehicles:

  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance operations

  • Conduct oil changes, inspections and periodic checks

  • Check mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical components

  • Replace defective parts and carry out necessary repairs

• Diagnose faults and carry out repairs:

  • Identify malfunctions using diagnostic tools

  • Work on braking, transmission, engine and suspension systems

  • Conduct mechanical, electrical and electronic fault-finding

  • Ensure the quality and compliance of the interventions performed

• Ensure the safety and proper functioning of the fleet:

  • Carry out vehicle safety checks

  • Prepare vehicles for inspections and technical controls

  • Follow internal procedures as well as safety instructions

  • Maintain tidiness and upkeep of your workstation

Your profile

• Holder of a Federal VET Diploma as an automobile maintenance mechanic, specialising in commercial vehicles, or equivalent training

• Proven experience in heavy vehicle mechanics

• Excellent knowledge of mechanical, electrical and electronic systems of industrial vehicles

• Autonomy, rigour and sense of responsibility

• Ability to work in a team and manage priorities

• Category C or CE driving licence: an advantage
