Role:
On behalf of the client, we are looking for an experienced professional as Construction Manager Building Construction for the realisation of demanding real estate and building projects in the Zurich area. You will take on the local construction management and share responsibility for meeting the qualitative, scheduling, and financial project goals. The focus is on scheduling, tenders, cost control, quality management as well as inspections and handovers. The position is situated in a professional environment of a general and total contractor and offers responsibility over essential phases of construction execution.
Responsibilities:
Responsibility for the local construction management of demanding building and real estate projects throughout the entire execution phase
Ensuring project goals regarding quality, costs, and deadlines as well as ongoing monitoring of construction progress
Creation and maintenance of construction schedules and timelines for tenders, plan deliveries, execution, commissioning, inspections, and handovers
Preparation of contractor tenders, conducting bid comparisons, and supporting the awarding of construction services
Management of cost and time control including quantity control, invoice verification, and contractor billing
Coordination and leadership of contractors, specialist planners, and other project participants on site
Leading and minuting planning, construction, and coordination meetings as well as following up on agreed measures
Responsibility for project-related quality management and control of professional and contractual construction execution
Organisation and execution of inspections and handovers with contractors, clients, and responsible authorities
Management of defect management including control and documentation of timely defect rectification
Ensuring compliance with relevant requirements for site safety, occupational health and safety, SIA standards, and legal regulations
Qualifications:
Completed construction or architecture-related vocational training, ideally supplemented by federally certified construction manager, FH architect, FH civil engineer or comparable further education
Several years of professional experience in construction management of building projects in Switzerland
Sound knowledge in tendering, awarding, scheduling, quantity surveying, and contractor billing
Experience in cost control, quality management, and defect management during construction execution
Good knowledge of relevant SIA standards, Swiss building regulations, and occupational safety regulations
Practical experience in coordinating contractors, specialist planners, clients, and authorities
