Your mission in Biel
The Project Service of the City of Biel is part of the Construction Department, within the Directorate of Public Works, Energy and Environment. It is responsible for managing new construction projects as well as transformation projects of the municipal real estate portfolio.The entrusted portfolio is very varied and notably includes school, sports, cultural and administrative buildings, several of which have particular architectural or heritage value.
Through its projects, the City of Biel aims to play a demonstrator role and set an example in terms of architectural quality, sustainability and responsible management of public resources.
To lead this strategic service, we are looking for an experienced architect with strong management skills and the desire to steer and realise ambitious public projects.

The profile we dream of
- University or University of Applied Sciences degree in architecture or equivalent training
- Proven experience in managing new construction projects and major transformations, ideally in the public sector
- Strong knowledge of building standards, public procurement and competition procedures
- Experience in team management and managing multiple projects
- Strong architectural culture, sensitivity to sustainability, energy and building quality.
