Your Tasks
Management of the cantonal utility cadastre: You lead the utility cadastre division with five employees and bear the professional, personnel and financial overall responsibility. You ensure the legally compliant, high-quality and timely updating of the cantonal utility cadastre.
Strategy and Innovation: You strategically develop the utility cadastre further and position it as a central data basis for infrastructure projects. In doing so, you lead innovation projects and promote the use of new technologies such as LIDAR, drones and artificial intelligence.
Coordination and Collaboration: You coordinate cooperation between utilities, cantonal specialist offices, municipalities and private parties and ensure smooth data and information exchange. In addition, you represent Basel-Stadt in cantonal and national expert committees.
Consultation and Sovereign Tasks: You advise authorities, planners and utilities on utility cadastre matters, review construction projects and prepare professional statements and conditions. You independently handle political enquiries and consultations.
Leadership and Development: You support your employees and trainees, continuously develop processes and can also assist with fieldwork in case of personnel shortages. You support the department management with leadership metrics and professional expertise.
Your Profile
Experience: Several years of professional experience in geomatics, geoinformation or infrastructure planning as well as leadership experience or proven potential to assume a leadership role. Experience in project management and dealing with various stakeholders is an advantage.
Personality: You think in networks, act solution-oriented and convince through leadership competence, enthusiasm for innovation and a confident manner. Negotiation skills, quality awareness and communication strength complete your profile.
Education: You have a university or university of applied sciences degree in geomatics, geoinformation, geosciences or a comparable field. Ideally, you have further training in leadership or project management.
Language: We require confident German language skills in spoken and written form; English skills are an advantage.

The Land Registry and Surveying Office is part of the Department of Construction and Transport Basel-Stadt and provides a wide range of services in the area of property-related information. It manages the land register and official surveying, maintains the official city map, operates the utility cadastre and ensures objective property valuations. It also takes on departmental IT and digitalisation tasks. With the Geoportal Basel-Stadt www.geo.bs.ch, it provides the public as well as the administration with an open platform for spatial data and services.
