Description of the role
We are looking for an exceptional leader to step into the role of Secretary General, serving as the Chief Executive Officer of the organization. This pivotal position offers an exciting opportunity to drive the mission and shape the future of road transport on a global scale. Key responsibilities include:
Strategic Development and External Relations:
- Identify and capitalize on opportunities for growth and strategic partnerships, adeptly navigating the political, legal, and operational landscape of the transport sector.
- Represent the organization in influential international forums and engage with significant global entities and governmental bodies.
- Amplify the organization's brand through impactful communication strategies across diverse platforms.
Vision and Leadership:
- Lead the organization in realizing its vision of becoming the foremost leader in the road transport sector, connecting societies through safe, efficient, and sustainable logistics.
- Direct the achievement of the organization's mission and strategic objectives, driving both annual and long-term goals.
- Build a focused and aligned senior management team, cultivating a culture of innovation and accountability.
Operations and Management:
- Oversee the effective functioning of the organization's secretariat, managing the strategic team and statutory bodies.
- Ensure the sound management of finances through compliance with internal regulations and comprehensive oversight of accounting practices.
- Organize key statutory meetings while providing vital support to the President.
- Foster strong relationships within the organization and engage with corporate partners and stakeholders to enhance collaboration.
Requirements:
Candidates should demonstrate a blend of strong leadership experience and sector expertise. The ideal profile includes:
- Proven record of strong leadership and management experience in a senior position in a non-governmental organization.
- In-depth understanding of the trade and transport sector, with substantial experience in sustainable transport and related technologies.
- A relevant university degree (Master's preferred).
- Exceptional strategic thinking and negotiation skills, with cultural awareness.
- Proficiency in both English and French; additional languages are considered an asset.
- Ability to navigate complex regulatory and operational environments while upholding the organizational values.
