Assistant Librarian-Documentalist within the Loan Service at the Riponne Site

By the size of its collections, the Cantonal and University Library - Lausanne (BCUL) is one of the largest libraries in Switzerland. A public institution with a heritage, cultural and academic vocation, the Cantonal and University Library - Lausanne (BCUL) depends on the General Directorate of Culture (DGC).

At the heart of access to culture and information, you play an essential role for the users of the Riponne site. To ensure the quality of their welcome, facilitate their orientation and ensure the smooth running of our public service, we are looking for professionals who are rigorous and passionate about librarianship.

• Ensure the reception and registration of users.

• Manage the loan and return of documents and provide other services to users.

• Provide service in closed stacks and open access areas.

• Perform various specific tasks.

• Ensure your own continuing education.

• Federal Certificate of Capacity (CFC) as an Information Agent or equivalent training.

• 3 years’ experience in the book field or public services.

• Proficiency in loan software as well as common office tools required.

• Enjoyment, ease and courtesy in contact with the public.

• Interest in books and new technologies (robots, e-readers, etc.).

• Oral knowledge of a foreign language required.

• Ability to work both in a team and independently.

• Spirit of mutual aid and collaboration.

• Precise, punctual and dynamic.

• Fixed working days to be determined.
