Role:
On behalf of the client, we are looking for a Project Engineer Rail Construction for versatile infrastructure projects in the Zurich area and German-speaking Switzerland. You will handle demanding rail infrastructure, civil rail engineering and track projects from planning to realisation and work closely with various engineering and rail technology disciplines. Another focus is construction phase planning during ongoing rail operations, site supervision as well as digital project processing with BIM, AutoCAD Civil 3D and Revit. The position is also suitable for career starters who want to specialise in rail construction and digital infrastructure planning in the long term.
Responsibilities:
Participation as a project engineer in demanding new build and renewal projects of the Swiss rail infrastructure
Planning and design of civil rail engineering, track, rail systems and rail-related infrastructure structures
Handling various project phases from studies and design through tendering to realisation
Coordination of planning with structural engineering, rail technology and other specialist disciplines as well as handling technical interfaces
Support in construction phase and staging planning for complex construction projects during ongoing rail operations
Participation in BIM projects as well as creation and processing of digital specialist and coordination models with AutoCAD Civil 3D and Revit
Preparation of plans, technical reports, quantity take-offs, tender documents and project documentation
Assumption of tasks in local site management and specialist site supervision as well as accompanying execution on site
Support in monitoring quality, costs and deadlines during planning and realisation
Technical coordination with clients, authorities, rail companies, specialist planners and construction companies
Application of relevant SIA and VSS standards as well as rail-specific guidelines and design principles
Qualifications:
Completed studies as a civil engineer ETH/EPFL/FH or qualification as a dipl. technician HF construction planning civil engineering
Initial professional experience in rail construction, civil engineering or infrastructure construction is an advantage; qualified career starters are also welcome
Interest in civil rail engineering, track planning, construction phase planning and realisation of rail infrastructure projects
Knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D, Revit and BIM is an advantage or willingness to deepen expertise
Basic knowledge of relevant SIA and VSS standards as well as interest in rail-specific regulations and planning processes
Interest in site management and specialist site supervision as well as practical implementation of infrastructure projects
German language skills at least level C1 spoken and written
