About the job
The Baumer Group is an internationally leading manufacturer of sensors and measuring instruments for factory and process automation. We owe this success to our approximately 2,800 employees worldwide, who are always passionately, expertly, and committedly searching for the best solutions for our customers.
The headquarters in Frauenfeld (Thurgau) sets the pace for the globally sought-after Baumer sensor solutions. Around 700 employees from engineering, product management, manufacturing, logistics, sales, and services work closely together here: engineers continuously develop new solutions, while the production and logistics teams ensure that the sensors arrive at customers on time and in Baumer quality.
Quality is no accident but the result of intelligent testing processes and technical excellence. In this role, you ensure that the printed circuit boards of our sensor solutions meet the highest quality standards. With your expertise in electrical testing, measurement technology, and test automation, you make a direct contribution to innovative products used worldwide in modern automation applications. You develop and optimise test programmes, analyse fault patterns, and successfully introduce new testing methods into production. Together with development, quality, and manufacturing, you ensure that our products become measurably better and continue to represent the precision our customers rely on. You are not looking for a pure support function but want to actively improve processes, solve technical challenges, and sustainably advance quality. Look forward to state-of-the-art test technologies, short decision-making paths, and plenty of scope for creativity in an environment that lives innovation, precision, and collaborative partnership. If you want to take responsibility and actively shape the quality of tomorrow, we look forward to meeting you.
What I drive
- You develop and optimise our testing processes for printed circuit boards and electronic assemblies and ensure reliable electrical functional and quality control.
- You create, programme, and maintain ICT, flying probe, and functional test systems and drive the continuous development of our test landscape.
- You analyse measurement results and fault patterns, derive sustainable improvement measures, and support production with technical questions and disruptions.
- You introduce new testing methods, measurement technologies, as well as product and process validations and work closely with development, quality, and manufacturing.
What it takes
- You have a completed degree or further training as a technician in electrical engineering, electronics, mechatronics, or a comparable field.
- You bring solid knowledge in electrical measurement technology, printed circuit board testing, and experience with ICT, flying probe, and functional test systems.
- You understand circuit diagrams, PCB layouts, and electronic assemblies and have experience in programming and optimising test procedures.
- You convince with an independent, structured, and solution-oriented working style and ideally have knowledge of Lean Six Sigma methods.
With us, collaboration happens where ideas arise: together on site. We are convinced that good leadership, team spirit, and quick decisions work best when people can exchange ideas personally. That is why we deliberately rely on 100% work on site – for close collaboration, short distances, and a lively corporate culture. In exceptional cases (e.g., visit from a craftsman, doctor’s appointment, official business, etc.), it is of course possible to work from home occasionally.
