To complete its team, the City of Sion is advertising a position for a
Legal Officer M/F
80% activity rate
within the General Administration service.
Your missions
In this varied and cross-functional role, you provide your legal expertise to the various City services and help secure their activities and decisions. You also intervene in procedures involving the City and assume a reference role in data protection. In this capacity, you will notably be required to:
- advise and support municipal services on various legal matters and draft opinions, notes, and recommendations;
- represent the City’s interests in administrative, civil, criminal, or arbitration procedures, collaborating with external representatives when necessary;
- prepare procedural acts and conduct conciliation sessions within the municipal jurisdiction;
- participate in the development and revision of regulations, directives, and other municipal texts, ensuring their legal compliance;
- monitor cross-cutting legal files involving several municipal services;
- ensure compliance with data protection requirements and support services in their implementation;
- raise awareness and advise colleagues on best practices in data protection and contribute to risk and incident management in this area;
- maintain contacts with the competent cantonal and federal authorities.
Your profile
- hold a master’s degree in law;
- have good knowledge of public law; experience in this field as well as in construction and real estate law is an asset;
- possess knowledge of data protection or be willing to train in this area;
- demonstrate excellent analytical, synthesis, and writing skills;
- be comfortable managing cross-functional files and enjoy collaborating with interlocutors of varied profiles;
- show discretion, availability, flexibility, and a strong sense of responsibility;
- master common IT tools;
- have a good understanding of German, especially for reading legal texts.

Remuneration
According to the City of Sion staff regulations and the Municipality’s salary scale.
