What is my role?

Management of the extended department of roads and watercourse maintenance

• Management of the extended roads department (team leadership, safety officer, budget, maintenance, cleaning, planning, winter service including on-call duty, markings/signage, footpaths and hiking trails, sponge city, forest road maintenance, etc.)

• Watercourse maintenance and practical advice on flood and renaturation projects

• Maintenance of road drainage and the network of foul and stormwater pipes

• Responsibility for the operation of public lighting as part of the roads together with an external partner

• Operation of disposal/recycling centres with internal and external partners

• Coordinated implementation of safety regulations in the traffic environment

• Representation of the department's interests in infrastructure projects

What do I need to be successful?

• Strong technical understanding, manual skills, good physical condition as well as team and coordination strength

• Sense of responsibility and flexibility

• Willingness to work partly outdoors in all weather conditions alongside administrative tasks

• Recognised construction-related training (e.g. road construction, general construction, crafts training (wood/forestry, metal, horticulture, vehicle technology, disposal/recycling) or a comparable qualification)

• Several years of practical experience in team leadership (present, tangible) and related fields

• Analytical, conceptual and interconnected thinking ability

• Trustworthy and assertive personality with persuasiveness

• Identification with sustainable operation and construction of municipal infrastructure

• Driving licence category B + E, option C

• Willingness to periodically take on on-call duty and thus have a short commute
