Head of Accounting and Financial Reporting (m/f/d)

Role:

In this role, you take on the strategic and operational responsibility for the entire accounting and financial reporting, ensuring transparent, reliable financial information. You are responsible for leading and further developing financial processes, including monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, as well as compliance with relevant standards and guidelines. You manage the controlling of financial flows, optimise structures, and implement efficient, future-oriented solutions. You act as the central contact person for finance-related queries, prepare decision-making bases for management, and provide precise analyses. At the same time, you shape the further development of the area with your expertise and experience and contribute significantly to stability, transparency, and sustainable growth.

Responsibilities:

• You lead the accounting team both professionally and personally and promote a learning-oriented team culture.
• In this role, you are responsible for the monthly and annual financial statements according to Swiss accounting law (OR).
• You ensure high data quality and compliance with internal guidelines and control frameworks.
• You act as the main contact person for internal and external audits as well as tax audits.
• In this role, you take responsibility for indirect tax obligations including Swiss and international VAT compliance and support direct tax matters.
• You analyse and optimise end-to-end financial processes and drive ERP developments as well as digitalisation initiatives.

Qualifications:

• You have a higher professional qualification in finance and accounting (at least a federal diploma or an equivalent qualification).
• You have 8-10 years of professional experience in accounting, ideally in an international and/or industrial environment.
• You enjoy taking on leadership responsibilities and demonstrate leadership competence, coaching skills, and enthusiasm for knowledge transfer.
• You possess solid knowledge of Swiss accounting law (OR) as well as direct and indirect taxes (including Swiss and international VAT) and have experience with VAT accounting and reconciliations.
• You are confident in using SAP ERP systems and common Microsoft Office applications and work analytically, structured, and reliably.
• You communicate clearly and cooperatively, work proactively, solution-oriented, and independently, fluent in German and good in English, both spoken and written.
