About the job
The Information Department produces numerous offerings for audio, video and SRF's digital channels. With versatile news and background formats as well as contextualising discussion and advisory programmes on current events in politics, economy and society, SRF facilitates the audience's opinion formation – informative, competent and independent.
In addition to a cover letter and CV, we expect a short video, maximum 1 minute, a self-recording in which you present a current news topic
Video Host SRF News
What are your tasks?
For the social media channels of SRF News, we are looking for a communicative and authentic personality as a video host. In this role, you prepare current news content tailored to a young audience and convey it in an accessible, contemporary manner. As a permanent member of our team, you are regularly present in front of the camera and thus make a significant contribution to fulfilling our public service mandate.
- As a host, you are responsible for presenting news videos for the Instagram and TikTok channels of SRF News – alternating with other hosts, you translate current news in a target group-appropriate and approachable way for a young audience
- You contribute your own topics and stories, research them independently and implement them effectively in your role as host
- In close collaboration with colleagues in the team, you are responsible for creating texts, scripts and/or storyboards as well as conducting the recordings
- You independently edit individual videos, ensuring a high design and content quality
What do you bring?
- You are enthusiastic about current news and socio-political topics, follow world events attentively and can react quickly and confidently to current events
- You appear authentic, approachable and dynamic in front of the camera and convey even complex news clearly, precisely and with appropriate ease – always with a view to a young audience (18–34 years)
- You have journalistic experience in the news sector and digital media, are used to working under time pressure and preparing news quickly and with high quality
- Initial moderation or hosting experience as well as knowledge in video production and editing are advantageous
