Psychiatry means supporting people in challenging life situations and developing new perspectives together. At the Münsingen site of the University Psychiatric Centre Bern (UPZ), you will find a varied working environment where you treat and support patients with different mental illnesses. You will gain insight into the entire spectrum of psychiatric disorders and modern treatment options, take on responsibility, and continuously develop your diagnostic and therapeutic skills. Together with a committed interprofessional team, you will be comprehensively supported on your path to becoming a specialist in psychiatry and psychotherapy.

Your tasks

• You take on diagnostic tasks and therapeutic case management under senior physician supervision
• You treat and support patients with various mental illnesses and develop individual therapy goals together with them
• You work closely with the interprofessional team and communicate with relatives and other involved professionals
• You actively participate in interdisciplinary case discussions and contribute your medical expertise
• You take responsibility in day, night, and emergency services
• You continuously expand your diagnostic and therapeutic skills across the entire spectrum of psychiatric disorders
• You make an important contribution to psychiatric primary care in the canton of Bern

Your profile

• You have completed a medical degree recognised in Switzerland or hold a corresponding licence (MEBEKO recognition)
• You are aiming for specialist training in psychiatry and psychotherapy
• You value interprofessional collaboration and actively contribute to the team
• You are interested in treating people with psychoses and addiction disorders and wish to specifically develop both your psychiatric and psychotherapeutic skills
• You are an open, committed, and responsible person with empathy, social skills, and good observational abilities
• You have very good oral and written German skills (at least level C1)
