Senior Physician Palliative Care (a)

This is what the professional everyday life looks like

As a department for Palliative Care, we care for people with incurable diseases. Our department consists of the in-hospital consultation service and the outpatient Mobile Palliative Service "MPD Baselland - SEOP". Our goal is the best possible symptom control, support in therapy goal setting, and planning of the further procedure. In doing so, we work closely with the treatment teams on the ward, the interprofessional palliative care team, other providers of specialised palliative care, as well as general practitioners, and dedicate ourselves to the following main tasks:

• Consultant medical co-care of inpatients and their relatives in the various clinics of KSBL, mainly at the Liestal site
• Co-care of patients in the home environment as the medical part of MPD Baselland - SEOP
• Strengthening basic competencies in palliative care
• Participation in internal and external training events
• Assistance in the further development and expansion of palliative care at KSBL

Competences and potential

• Completed specialist training with specialist title in General Internal Medicine
• Additional qualification in palliative care (CAS level) or willingness to acquire the focus in palliative medicine
• Clinical experience in palliative care
• Enjoyment of close collaboration with nursing and the interprofessional palliative care team
• Empathetic, committed personality with a high service and patient orientation
