As an IP Paralegal at Nestlé, your mission is to support Senior Legal Counsels responsible for trademark portfolios and to independently drive intellectual property projects. To support one of our newly integrated Strategic Business Unit, you will play a key role in ensuring strong portfolio management, efficient ways of working and close collaboration with internal business and legal stakeholders. You will make a difference by helping protect and strengthen Nestlé's brands through accurate trademark searches, portfolio management and legal research.
How you'll make an impact as an IP Paralegal
- Conducting trademark availability searches, analysing results and making clear recommendations to the responsible Counsel(s).
- Managing trademark and industrial design registration processes from filing to grant for specific Business Unit(s), aligned with business roll-out plans.
- Handling objections from IP Authorities, defensive oppositions and related agreements, undertakings and co-existence terms.
- Monitoring competitive trademark publications, supporting oppositions where needed and drafting reports on moderately complex legal matters.
- Keeping internal records accurate by creating and updating files, docketing deadlines and monitoring key portfolio milestones.
- Supporting legal research, evidence gathering and litigation activities by organising information, sales figures and marketing materials for trademark and design matters.
What will make you successful
- Bringing solid experience in trademarks within an international environment or a law firm.
- Working confidently with online databases and web-based IP management systems, ideally Memotech, or showing strong digital agility to onboard quickly.
- Combining excellent planning and organisational skills with strong accuracy and attention to detail.
- Being flexible, proactive and collaborative, with the curiosity and agility to work autonomously and take initiative.
- Being curious about innovation and comfortable working with digital tools, data analytics and emerging technologies, including AI-enabled solutions, to help drive operational excellence and support the future development of our IP services.
- Communicating fluently in written and spoken English; good spoken French is desirable.
- Demonstrating courage, collaboration, speed and continuous learning.
