Founded on 14 April 1900 in Paris, the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) is the world governing body for cycling. Its mission is to develop and oversee cycling in all its forms and for everyone, as a competitive sport, a healthy leisure activity, and a means of transport and enjoyment. The UCI also promotes its own events, notably the annual flagship UCI Road World Championships, as well as many other World Championships and World Cups across various disciplines. Its headquarters are located in Aigle, Switzerland, at the UCI World Cycling Centre.

Project Coordinator UCI Cycling World Championships 2027

Mission:
As Project Coordinator – UCI Cycling World Championships 2027, you will report to the Head of Olympic Games and Major Events within the Sports Department. You will work closely with the Head of Olympic Games and Major Events, relevant UCI departments, the Organising Committee, and external stakeholders to ensure the successful planning and implementation of the UCI Cycling World Championships 2027, to be held in Haute-Savoie, France.
Main responsibilities:
- Coordinate the preparation, planning, and operational implementation of the Championship elements under UCI responsibility.
- Develop and maintain the UCI project plan and associated work plans.
- Ensure effective internal project monitoring with UCI departments and external stakeholders.
- Track milestones and deliverables under the responsibility of the UCI and organisers.
- Prepare, organise, and follow up on internal and external project meetings, site visits, and briefings, including agendas, minutes, and action tracking.
- Produce regular progress reports for UCI management.
- Carry out specific agreed tasks, such as maintaining and updating the overall schedule and coordinating the implementation of the accreditation system, in coordination with departments, organisers, and stakeholders, according to the agreed process.
- Coordinate arrangements for the UCI delegation: accommodation, transport, accreditation, and hospitality, in collaboration with relevant units (including UCI Travel).
- Perform agreed operational coordination tasks during the Championships.
- Coordinate the post-event debriefing process.
- Produce the final post-event report.
- Develop knowledge transfer documentation and ensure proper internal archiving.
Profile:
- Higher education in sports management or equivalent.
- At least 5 years of professional experience in organising and implementing major sporting events, ideally in cycling.
- Proven project management experience in sports event planning.
- Excellent organisational skills.
- Native French speaker with excellent command of English.
- Good knowledge of MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Strong leadership skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Motivated, curious, open-minded, and flexible individual.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Availability to travel frequently and work weekends.
- Holder of a driving licence and access to a vehicle.
- Resident in the Lake Geneva region or willing to relocate there quickly.
Start date : immediate or to be agreed, contract until 28 February 2028
