Mandatory Nursing Internship

for students of human medicine at the University of Bern

The medical field Abdomen includes the specialties of visceral surgery, hepatology, gastroenterology, nephrology, urology and thoracic surgery. The wards each have a focus on the care and support of patients. Nevertheless, all specialties are represented on the various wards. In one of these exciting areas of responsibility, we offer a 4-week nursing internship in accordance with the requirements of the University of Bern, Bachelor’s degree in human medicine. We are committed in interdisciplinary teams with dedication and expertise to the health of our patients. What to expect

Human medicine students at the University of Bern complete a 4-week nursing internship as a prerequisite for admission to the 2nd year of study. The internship must be completed without interruption at a 100% employment level.

What you bring

You have passed the aptitude test for medical studies in Switzerland (EMS) or are enrolled at the University of Bern, Bachelor in Human Medicine. You are interested in gaining insight into the areas of responsibility of health and nursing care. You show motivation and initiative to achieve your learning goals. You are ready to apply newly acquired skills in everyday life and to care for our patients and their relatives with appreciation and empathy.
