Head of Systems Department in Shipbuilding

Shiptec AG is looking for a responsible, reliable and independent individual as Head of Systems Department in Shipbuilding, 80-100%, permanent, starting by arrangement.

Are you passionate about technology, innovation and shipbuilding? In this key role, you will lead the Systems department and ensure that demanding technical solutions are reliably planned, coordinated and implemented.

Shiptec AG is a subsidiary of SGV Holding AG. It provides technical services with a shipyard and an engineering office in the areas of ship design and engineering, shipbuilding, ship revisions, conversions and ship maintenance in a national and international environment.

• Leadership and further development of employees in the Systems department
• Coordination of the departments Mechanics, Electrical and Pipefitting
• Ensuring efficient work planning, work allocation and deadline monitoring within the department
• Primary contact person for cross-departmental technical and organisational issues
• Responsibility for the implementation of improvement measures and continuous optimisation of processes
• Leading projects, conversions, maintenance and production-related tasks in the Systems department
• Ensuring collaboration between departments and high quality in execution
• Ensuring smooth operations and timely delivery of services in the Systems department
• Identifying customer needs and market potentials and deriving suitable offers
• Participation in the development and responsibility for the implementation of the strategy in the Systems department
• Responsibility for the preparation and calculation of quotations in cooperation with the responsible specialist departments
• Active involvement in the acquisition of projects and orders as well as further development of the customer and service portfolio

• Technical basic training in a craft or industrial profession, for example as an electrician, mechanic, plumber, supplemented by further training as a certified technician HF, a university of applied sciences degree or a comparable qualification
• Strong business and entrepreneurial understanding
• Several years of professional and leadership experience in a technical-craft or industrial production environment
• Experience in coordinating different departments as well as in planning and controlling workflows
• Strong leadership, organisational and communication skills as well as a solution-oriented working style
• High quality, deadline and responsibility awareness as well as enjoyment in working with different professional groups
• Openness to change, improvement processes and new working methods
