Located in the Vevey region, between town and countryside, the Cité du Genévrier welcomes adults with disabilities due to intellectual impairment. A multidisciplinary and multi-site structure, it offers those it supports a particularly harmonious living and working environment as well as a range of skills tailored to the needs and aspirations of each individual.
Integrated into the Eben-Hézer Foundation, the Cité du Genévrier is the custodian of the moral testament of its founder, Sister Julie Hofmann. It therefore considers the happiness of the people it supports as the ultimate goal of its work.
Mission
The "Le Lilas" Group is a living space accommodating 4 adults with autism spectrum disorders associated with moderate to severe intellectual disability. The group offers individualised and evolving support based on the resident's needs. On a daily basis, the educator focuses on predictability work allowing the development and maintenance of skills through structuring and adapting the environment. Support is developed through close work balancing individual and group time. The team’s wish is for each resident to be fully integrated at the heart of their life project. In daily life, particular attention is given to nurturing the physical, psychological, cultural, social and gustatory well-being of the people supported.
The educator at Le Lilas:
Supports the person in their daily life in an individualised way
Is capable of producing professional written reports, transmitting and accounting for their work
Encourages autonomy, the notion of choice and self-determination
Supports receptive and expressive communication
Relies on practices such as the ABA method, the TEACCH approach, PECS
Is involved in group activities: gym, cooking workshop, plant room, creative and artistic room, outings

Desired profile
Holding a diploma as an ES or HES educator
Having experience in the field of intellectual disability and/or ASD
Being comfortable working and communicating in a team
Having experience in implementing life projects and adapted protocols
Being dynamic, proactive and motivated
Knowing how to listen but also how to take a stand
Being able to question one’s practice with a view to development
You are proficient with common IT tools, hold a driving licence and are willing to work irregular hours including weekends.

Within the framework of this permanent contract, you will benefit from an interesting and varied internal training programme, as well as the social conditions and benefits of the collective labour agreement for the Vaud parapublic social sector, with 8 weeks’ holiday, increasing to 9 weeks from the age of 50.
