In this role, you will take on system management and ensure the setup, integration, and stable operation of new systems and interfaces. You are responsible for managing and further developing the server landscape, including archiving and IAM processes, and ensure the smooth setup, maintenance, and monitoring of physical and virtual workplaces. Additionally, you will handle monitoring of the entire IT infrastructure, management of the VDI environment, as well as automation of patch management and operating system maintenance. You implement and integrate software solutions into existing and new infrastructures, configure and optimise networks across all locations, and administer cloud services including migration and optimisation of the cloud infrastructure. Furthermore, you ensure reliable backup management by managing regular data backups and verifying their recoverability within the framework of disaster recovery strategies.
Responsibilities:
Technical co-design of a modern, multi-site infrastructure and responsibility for the stable operation of central system, network, and workplace services
Further development of the physical and virtual server landscape including identity services, VDI, monitoring, and automated operating system management
Implementation of cloud and infrastructure projects as well as optimisation of connectivity, platform resources, and hybrid operating models
Ensuring operational resilience through structured data backup, regular restoration tests, and continuous improvement of technical operational processes
Qualifications:
Solid IT education combined with several years of practical experience in a broadly based system engineering or infrastructure role
Very good understanding of the interaction between network, server, virtualisation, applications, and cloud as well as experience with virtual workplace environments
Technical affinity for automation and scripting as well as ideally practical experience with technologies such as Barracuda, VMware, Hyper-V, Aruba, SCCM, and PRTG
Analytical and solution-oriented team player with high initiative, confident communication in German, and motivation to actively further develop a business-critical IT environment
