Activation Specialist for Wernicke Specialised Ward

Do you want to offer activation not just as a service, but to independently shape an entire area? At the Wernicke ward of the University Psychiatric Centre (UPZ) Bern, you will support 18 people with complex psychiatric disorders and acute stress crises in a specialised intensive psychiatric setting at the interface of psychiatry and somatic medicine. In doing so, you take responsibility for the activation area and shape the therapeutic milieu of the ward with your ideas, expertise, and sensitivity to the individual needs of our patients.

Your tasks

• You independently manage the activation area and coordinate closely with the ward management
• Your main task includes milieu therapy on the ward
• You develop, plan, and are responsible for modern activating, milieu-therapeutic, and rehabilitative group and individual offers
• You ensure the organisation, quality assurance, and continuous development of the activation services
• You specifically promote self-efficacy, resources, everyday skills, and social participation of our patients
• You work closely and interdisciplinarily with nursing, medical staff, therapy, and social services
• You actively contribute your ideas to concept work, quality development, and innovative projects

Your profile

• You have completed basic training in nursing (Nursing HF / FH or FaGe EFZ with appropriate further training) and additional training in activation, social pedagogy and/or occupational therapy
• You have professional experience in the psychiatric field and possess sound knowledge of milieu therapy
• Your focus is on the targeted activation of patients, actively shaping the ward climate as a therapeutic element and supporting those affected in a resource-oriented manner in their daily lives
• You enjoy creative, action-oriented offers
• You are a resilient, empathetic personality with organisational skills and high social competence
• You work in a structured, responsible manner and enjoy working in an interprofessional team
