Industrial Automation Engineer (m/f/d)
Role:
In this versatile engineering position, you take responsibility for the complete technical implementation and commissioning of customised automation solutions in mechanical engineering. From conception through PLC programming to commissioning and documentation, you manage the entire development process. Your solid knowledge in electrical engineering, pneumatics, visualisation systems as well as your cross-system thinking make you a central part of the project team.
Responsibilities:
Selection and specification of electrical and pneumatic components in collaboration with suppliers
Design of control systems, I/O modules and industrial networks according to customer-specific requirements
Creation of I/O lists, technical documentation and communication with the electrical engineering team (schematic creation by third parties)
Development of pneumatic diagrams using tools such as FluidSim, as well as participation in wiring, hosing and their subsequent documentation
Programming of industrial controllers (e.g. Siemens S7, Beckhoff) in the languages FBD, LD, ST according to IEC 61131-3
Implementation of technical requirements into logical sequences based on verbal or written instructions from the project team
Setup, configuration and testing of machine networks (e.g. ProfiNet, EtherCAT)
Development of user interfaces (HMI) and their connection to the control system, including recipe management with Siemens WinCC (TIA Portal) or Beckhoff TwinCAT
Qualifications:
Completed studies in electrical or automation engineering or a technical basic education (e.g. IT specialist, automation technician, electronics technician) with appropriate further training
Very good knowledge of PLC programming languages FBD, LD and ST (IEC 61131-3)
Experience with control systems from Siemens and Beckhoff, including HMI development and network architectures in TIA Portal (from V14) or TwinCAT (from V3)
Practical knowledge in pneumatics (e.g. with Festo components) as well as handling of sensors, actuators and motors (24V to 400V AC)
Willingness to undertake international travel and occasional on-site assignments
Very good German and English skills in spoken and written form
