In this role, you take responsibility for the administration and monitoring of a demanding, company-wide backup environment, ensuring reliable data protection. You are responsible for the stable, high-performance operation of the backup landscape and ensure that business-critical systems are protected at all times. You continuously analyse and optimise backup and restore processes to continuously improve quality, efficiency, and security. You coordinate and accompany recovery tests as well as productive restores and ensure that defined service levels and compliance requirements are met. You act as the central contact person for all questions regarding backup, recovery, and operational security.
Responsibilities:
You support operational activities for data backup and recovery
In this role, you participate in the design and execution of disaster recovery tests
You implement monitoring and automation solutions for backup and restore processes
You shape the further development of the backup infrastructure and accompany migration projects
You support the team with infrastructural tasks and participate in the on-call service
Qualifications:
You have a degree in computer science.
You have 3-5 years of practical experience in backup management, engineering, and enterprise backup solutions.
You possess solid know-how in SAN storage, Linux and Windows, as well as experience with data recovery exercises and disaster recovery plans.
You are familiar with Linux (Red Hat) and UNIX-based operating systems and have a strong affinity for automation.
Ideally, you already hold ITIL and TOGAF certifications or are willing to obtain them.
You are characterised by a hands-on mentality, analytical and solution-oriented working style, high team spirit, and very good English skills; German and/or French are a plus.
