The City of Fribourg is advertising a position for a
Horticulturist / Landscape Gardener at 100%
in the Urban Planning and Architecture Department, Green Spaces Sector
Your tasks
- Maintain, inspect and construct playgrounds and the urban golf course
- Carry out construction work (masonry, laying paving stones, walls, etc.)
- Perform various plantings, weeding, pruning of plants, etc.
- Participate in the maintenance and pruning of major trees
- Carry out pruning work, using a cherry picker and rope access
- Participate in the management of invasive plants and various tasks at the St-Léonard cemetery
- Maintain equipment and machinery
- Participate in on-call services (weekends, public holidays)
Your profile
- Federal VET Diploma (CFC) as a landscape gardener, lumberjack or equivalent training
- At least 5 years’ experience in the maintenance of play equipment and minor masonry
- Training in "Tree Access and Advanced Module", playground inspection and/or rope work (IRATA) is an advantage
- Versatile, autonomous person with ease in adapting to various teams
- Good physical condition
- Category B driving licence with BE trailer entitlement
- Good command of French or German, ideally with knowledge of the partner language
