In this role, as a Senior Software Engineer, you take responsibility for the conception, development, and optimisation of Linux-based software solutions. You analyse complex requirements, design viable architectures, and implement these into robust, high-performance, and maintainable software. You ensure high quality through clean implementation, testing, and code reviews and drive the continuous improvement of existing systems. Additionally, you work closely with other departments to coordinate technical concepts and efficiently integrate solutions into the overall environment. With your experience in the Linux environment, you bring new impulses and contribute significantly to the further development of the technologies used.
Responsibilities:
- You develop embedded Linux software for inductive charging applications
- In this role, you are responsible for software requirements and architectures and create high-quality design specifications
- As a Senior Software Engineer Linux, you communicate project progress transparently to internal and external stakeholders and manage measures and change requests
- You work closely with hardware engineering teams to ensure optimal integration of software and hardware
- In this role, you ensure compliance with relevant automotive standards and processes (e.g. ISO 26262, IEC 61508, ISO/SAE 21434)
- As a Senior Software Engineer Linux, you design and develop the security architecture (Secure Boot, SELinux, OS hardening) for robust and secure systems
Qualifications:
- You have a completed degree (Bachelor or Master) in computer science, electrical engineering, or a comparable field
- You have several years, at least 5 years, of experience in developing embedded Linux software in a demanding industrial environment
- You are very familiar with relevant software development processes and standards in the automotive industry, such as ISO 26262
- You are proficient in C and C++ and also have experience with Python as well as shell or Bash scripting
- You bring practical experience with the Yocto Project or a comparable embedded Linux build system
- You work in a structured and solution-oriented manner, communicate clearly and cooperatively, and have a high quality awareness for design and development processes in the embedded hardware environment
