Social Worker Activity rate 60 - 80% Contract duration: 1 year - Fixed-term contract Start date: ideally 1 October 2026

The social service (SOC) of the City of Geneva contributes to improving the living environment and conditions of the inhabitants of our city by creating connections and enabling them to fully participate in social life. Favouring a local approach, the SOC offers services and develops projects aimed at promoting solidarity, integration and inclusion of people in vulnerable situations, in collaboration with institutional and associative partners.

To complete its team, the SOC Social Team is looking for a

Your mission :

• Inform and guide people contacting the Social Service by calling on resources from the institutional or associative network when appropriate;
• Carry out assessments of the social situations of the people assisted;
• Ensure social support and follow-up of beneficiaries;
• Contribute to the management of the unit’s services in their specificities (social and financial aid, management of housing issues, etc.), while ensuring links with all internal and external partners;
• Carry out complex procedures related to debt relief (notably establishing a detailed statement of debts).

Your profile :

• Hold a Bachelor of Arts HES-SO in social work, or have an equivalent qualification;
• Have professional experience in social follow-up of people in precarious situations;
• Have good knowledge of the Geneva network of public institutions, private entities and socio-health associations;
• Be able to manage, support and evaluate individual and collective projects, as well as work in a team or network, showing an interest in coordination;
• Be autonomous, organised, with a keen sense of priorities and available to work occasionally in the evenings and at weekends;
• Experience in debt relief is an asset.

Employment conditions :

• Meet the requirements of the position in terms of diploma and experience as stated in the offer

• The position is classified within the limit of category I of the City of Geneva’s salary scale.
