About the job
Senior Backend Engineer - Data Platform Asset Management (m/f/d)
IT / Bern / Experienced Professionals / Permanent / 40% - 100%
What to expect
As part of the Gold team, you develop robust backend solutions for the asset management data platform. You connect inventory, market and transaction data from various systems, thereby creating the foundation for reliable data products, reports and analyses. In our international, agile team, you contribute with a strong quality awareness to ensure the future viability of our products.
Your impact with us
In this role, you design, develop and operate our Python- and SQL-based data pipelines on Databricks and Azure. You are responsible for stable and high-performance solutions for loading processes, validation and transformation throughout the entire lifecycle – following the principle "you build it, you run it". Additionally, you help to optimise common standards, for example for data governance and data lineage.
As an experienced developer, you actively share your knowledge and strengthen the engineering competence in the team through code reviews and professional exchange. If interested and suitably qualified, you can gradually take on technical responsibility in areas such as technology, quality or security – for example as a Quality Engineer, Security Ambassador or in solution design and the further development of the technical vision.
As a curious person, we support you on this path with targeted internal training and development opportunities.
Your profile
- Several years of experience in backend development with Python as well as a solid understanding of software architecture, object-oriented development, design patterns and automated testing
- Practical experience in data engineering with data-intensive systems, especially with PySpark, SQL and lakehouse technologies
- Experience in designing and operating productive data pipelines including orchestration, monitoring, alerting and troubleshooting
- Understanding of the interaction of distributed systems, applications and data flows, as well as experience with integrating components in heterogeneous system landscapes
- Confident handling of Git, GitLab CI/CD and cloud environments (Azure advantageous)
- Analytical, structured and implementation-oriented working style as well as a strong affinity for automation
- Communicative and open personality with enjoyment in professional exchange and collaboration in an international team
- Fluent German and good English skills for collaboration with our team members in Vietnam
- Experience in the finance or asset management environment is a plus
