About the job
With more than 13,000 employees representing 160 professions, the Geneva University Hospitals (HUG) are a reference institution at both national and international levels. To learn more about our institution, take a few minutes to consult our 2025 retrospective by clicking here .
The Human Resources Directorate's main mission is to ensure the development of the institution's human capital in view of organisational evolution. It constantly seeks to innovate, challenge, and improve its practices while basing its strategy on the positive experience of employees. The HUG HR policy is based on skills development and career paths aligned with institutional needs and focuses on consideration of the individual, work-life balance, and health and safety at work.
The HUG Training and Development Centre (CFD) positions itself as a leader in innovation and educational design, serving HUG staff and other institutions within the Geneva care network. As part of its transformation, the CFD is looking for one or two project managers in educational engineering to complete its sector dedicated to educational development, responsible for designing institutional training programmes and systems.
In this role, in close partnership with the management of various professional sectors and the heads of the HUG Training and Development Centre, you will manage a portfolio of strategic projects and implement best practices in educational engineering, management of institutional training projects, and trainer training. Working closely with various internal and external stakeholders, you will lead complex and large-scale projects that enrich and optimise HUG's training offer to effectively meet the skills development needs of HUG staff and other target audiences within partner entities.
The training systems you create are efficient and contribute to the excellence of staff skills and HUG services. In a highly competitive context and shortage of certain profiles, they help create a highly favourable learning experience that promotes the employer brand.
As a project manager, you support training officers from different sectors as well as members of the management in redesigning the current training offer and creating new innovative training pathways. You deploy collaborative approaches that allow new systems to emerge while integrating medium- and long-term learner needs and ensuring the operability of various curricula. Through your field interventions, you facilitate the prioritisation of projects and programmes.
You support CFD sector heads and other stakeholders in redesigning and developing various training services, whether specialised care staff training programmes or continuing education for all HUG staff.
Thanks to your methodological expertise in project management, you provide structure and organisation that guarantee the smooth running of cross-cutting and institutional projects entrusted to the CFD. You are responsible for organising and conducting the different stages, monitoring deadlines and deliverables, and managing the human, financial, and material resources associated with each project. Your active monitoring activity allows you to capitalise on various methodologies, educational technologies, and best practices in educational engineering and contribute to defining and respecting standards of excellence in your field.
For each educational engineering project, you ensure responsibility for decisions made and the quality of deliverables, whether the project is carried out internally by yourself, entrusted to others under your responsibility, or to external providers. You also ensure the project's conduct complies with current best practices and applicable regulations, notably procurement law.
Qualifications
With a university education, you hold a Master’s degree and a project management certification. You can demonstrate more than 5 years’ experience managing complex projects in training and educational engineering. Experience in healthcare and/or nursing would be an asset.
You are recognised for your excellent analytical, conceptualisation, and engineering skills. Your methodological rigour and creativity enable you to successfully complete projects you lead within deadlines. With a strong sense of responsibility and commitment, you work autonomously while providing visibility and transparency on your working methods and achievements.
Possessing excellent oral and written communication skills, you demonstrate synthesis skills while providing systemic analyses that enable clients and stakeholders to make informed decisions. You know how to share your knowledge and support demanding stakeholders to promote a learning culture and high-quality training standards. You are recognised for your ability to adapt to different environments and personalities without losing sight of your objective and mandate.
The fields of health and training stimulate you. This interest, combined with your intellectual curiosity, allows you to actively collaborate with various interlocutors and understand their needs and challenges. Thanks to your leadership, you facilitate interdisciplinary communication and bring structure to different stakeholders and training sectors. You are also very comfortable with various digital tools used in training and are familiar with LMS-type platforms, enabling you to optimise the provision and monitoring of the training you develop.
