Role:
On behalf of a client, we are seeking an experienced Construction / Project Manager Residential Building for the independent realisation of demanding structural engineering projects in the general contractor / total contractor environment. You will manage medium to large residential construction projects and be responsible for costs, deadlines, quality, and execution. Your main tasks include tendering and awarding subcontractor services as well as coordinating all specialist planners and project participants. The position combines operational site management with comprehensive project responsibility in turnkey residential construction.
Responsibilities:
Independent construction and project management of general contractor / total contractor residential projects from execution planning to handover
Management and supervision of all trades in turnkey structural engineering
Responsibility for cost, schedule, and quality management as well as ongoing project controlling
Preparation and coordination of tenders for subcontractor and supplier services
Conducting offer comparisons, award negotiations, and contract awards in coordination with the project organisation
Coordination of specialist planners, authorities, subcontractors, and other project participants
Monitoring construction execution regarding quantity, quality, and contract compliance
Leadership and control of schedules, construction processes, and project milestones
Review and processing of measurements, change orders, extra work, and contractor invoices
Support of change and contract management with subcontractors
Organisation and leadership of construction and coordination meetings as well as follow-up of relevant pending issues
Support of acceptances, defect management, commissioning, and handover of completed residential buildings
Qualifications:
Degree as civil engineer FH/ETH, architect FH/ETH, construction manager HF/HFP or equivalent technical construction education
Several years of professional experience in construction or project management of structural engineering projects in Switzerland
Solid experience in general contractor / total contractor and residential construction, ideally with overall responsibility for larger projects
Good knowledge of Swiss construction processes, SIA standards, and contract law
Practical experience in tendering, awarding, cost control, and change management
Good knowledge of digital construction administration, scheduling, and MS Office applications
Very good German language skills, spoken and written
