Court Management
The Winterthur District Court is a court of first instance with around 75 employees. Each year, the Winterthur District Court handles over 6,000 civil and criminal cases.
An auditor position at the Winterthur District Court offers graduates (MLaw) the opportunity to enter legal professional practice. The auditor position lasts a net year (14 months), which is credited as a practical year in accordance with the admission requirements for the bar examination.

Your area of responsibility
As an auditor, you regularly rotate within the Winterthur District Court and are each assigned to a team consisting of a court clerk and a judge. You participate in hearings and assist in processing the cases dealt with in civil and criminal law. You support your team in drafting decisions, taking minutes, conducting legal research, and various other legal as well as administrative tasks. This way, you gain insight into different areas of law and various types of proceedings.
Your profile
- Completed studies in law (MLaw);
- Very good knowledge of the official language;
- Good reputation (extract from the criminal record);
- Legal capacity (certificate of legal capacity).
