The Department of Primary Care Medicine (DMPR) has the societal mission to provide access to quality care for all through community medicine, to ensure the management of minor medical and surgical emergencies, to promote prevention among citizens, to provide medical knowledge for judicial investigations, and to promote the health of travellers.

The Primary Care Medicine Service provides outpatient care for adult patients under primary care medicine. This service also offers outpatient emergency medical services to the population. Within the framework of the HUG's general interest missions, it provides access to care for disadvantaged populations due to their age, social, economic, or legal status (asylum seekers, those subject to inadmissibility decisions, undocumented persons, prisoners), or their lifestyle habits; if necessary, the primary care medicine service also ensures the continuity of their care.

As a care team leader (RES), you are responsible for supervising all activities of the ambulatory emergency unit (UUA).

You work closely with the emergency department and undertake on-call duties in partnership with the various care sectors of the Acute Medicine Department.

You are responsible for the quality of care and ensure the professional development of staff members.

You coordinate and organise the proper allocation of resources by creating team schedules and distributing skills according to the unit's needs.

Thanks to your interpersonal skills, motivational abilities, and open-mindedness, you support caregivers through various phases of change.

In terms of professional practices, you participate in the evolution of clinical practices and ensure their implementation in compliance with institutional rules and in co-construction with the teams concerned.

You promote and ensure the implementation of interprofessional collaboration and teamwork to address challenges and issues encountered, while fostering team spirit and promoting institutional values.

You collaborate closely with all professional categories and encourage an interprofessional work dynamic, serving the quality and continuity of care.

You hold a Bachelor of Science in Nursing or an equivalent diploma recognised by the Swiss Red Cross, as well as a diploma as an expert in emergency care. A practice licence for the canton of Geneva is essential.

A CAS in health institution management is required or must be obtained during employment.

You are an experienced manager or have been selected for the RES succession programme, under the aegis of the Human Resources Directorate and the Nursing Directorate.

You have at least five years’ experience in an acute or emergency hospital sector, and experience in a managerial role is an asset.

A good command of common IT tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc.) is necessary, as well as applications related to care.

You possess managerial and leadership skills and know how to manage complex situations.

To develop trustful relationships and a collaborative spirit with your team and various professional partners, you have excellent interpersonal skills such as listening, the ability to unite, and positive managerial communication.

Open-mindedness and the ability to lead change are essential to successfully carry out this mission.

Furthermore, a good knowledge of community health and the Geneva care network would be an asset.
