It therefore directs the preliminary criminal procedure and investigations into offences brought to its attention, when they concern adults. It also represents the prosecution before courts and various judicial bodies.
The Public Prosecutor's Office is composed of the Central Public Prosecutor's Office, the 4 district offices, and the Cantonal Public Prosecutor's Office STRADA.
Responsibilities

- Handle criminal prosecution files delegated by the prosecutor
- Participate in the organisation of the registry
- Collaborate on specific activities at the request of the prosecutor
The Public Prosecutor's Office offers its staff flexibility options in organising working hours.
