The Broye-Vully Forest Group (GFBV) is a regional forestry company responsible for the sustainable management of over 2,000 hectares of public forests in the Broye Vaudoise, Fribourg, and Vully regions. The GFBV relies on a team of about twenty committed and qualified collaborators to ensure multifunctional forest management, balancing economic performance, ecological sustainability, and services for communities. With its strong regional roots, the group works closely with its members, authorities, and local partners.
As part of the retirement of its Director and to ensure continuity of its activities, the GFBV is seeking its future:

Your main tasks
As Director, you will ensure the strategic and operational management of the Broye-Vully Forest Group, as well as the management of a forest sorting yard.
Your main responsibilities include:
• Ensuring the strategic and operational leadership of the group, in close collaboration with the management committee
• Coordinating the activities of the forest sorting yards and guaranteeing efficient and coherent management of the entire group
• Managing the forest sorting yard under your responsibility, planning and supervising forestry work
• Promoting sustainable and long-term forest management, respecting the economic, ecological, and social functions of the forest
• Managing finances: preparing and monitoring the budget, controlling accounts, reporting to the management committee
• Developing and steering the group’s commercial activities, in connection with the timber market and forestry services
• Leading and supporting staff: recruitment, skills development, performance reviews, work climate
• Ensuring modern, motivating, and safe framework conditions for all employees
• Maintaining quality relationships with members, partners, authorities, and forestry services
• Enhancing the image, services, and products of the Broye-Vully Forest Group
Your profile
• Higher forestry education (ES or HES in forest management) or equivalent qualification
• Experience in managing or directing a company or forestry service is an asset
• Skills in team management, financial management, and project leadership
• Good knowledge of the functioning of forestry institutions and relations with authorities
• Natural leadership, fostering collaboration, communication, and a climate of trust
• Ability to analyse situations, make decisions, and take responsibility
• Developed commercial sense and ease in dealing with various interlocutors
