The Kantonsschule Zürich Nord, as the largest secondary school in the canton of Zurich, offers a comprehensive secondary school programme with a long gymnasium, a short gymnasium, and a specialised secondary school. Our school has around 2,200 students, 300 teachers, and 50 central services staff. The school management consists of 8 principals and one deputy. The Central Services area, with its 9 departments, covers the administrative, organisational, and technical sectors of the school. The Kantonsschule Zürich Nord is generally located on the campus in Zurich-Oerlikon; due to a complete renovation, we are temporarily based at the Irchel campus from summer 2024 to summer 2027.
We are looking immediately or by arrangement for a responsible, proactive, and service-oriented individual (ideal age approx. 25 – 55 years) who is characterised by a strong sense of independence and implementation strength as well as a very well-structured way of working. You enjoy acquiring knowledge quickly and working in a demanding and dynamic environment. Efficient and at the same time precise work characterises you, and even in hectic times you keep a cool head and a touch of humour. You think in a networked way, are resilient, friendly, and loyal, like to contribute actively, and maintain close and efficient cooperation within our team of eight people. The advertised position is initially fixed-term. However, there is the prospect of a permanent employment contract depending on development. Home office is not possible (only from a workload of 80%). Attendance is organised as follows for organisational reasons: Monday and Wednesday full days, remaining percentages by arrangement. During the 2-week induction phase, the workload is 80-100%.
Your tasks
• You will become the specialist for an assigned area of responsibility
• Assistance to the school management in administrative areas
• Organisational and administrative support of the assigned classes
• Advising students, parents/guardians, and teachers
• Other cross-sectional tasks (events, minute-taking, projects, and more)
• Telephone and reception duties at the front office (2 half-days per week)
Your profile
You have
• A commercial basic education or equivalent training
• Several years of professional experience in the administrative field (preferably in education)
• Native German speaker (confident German in spoken and written form)
