Development Engineer Drive Technology (m/f/d)
The ROCKEN partner specialises in the design and manufacture of ships for a variety of professional applications. This includes ships for public passenger transport, tourist activities, freight transport, as well as special authority and rescue boats. The company offers a comprehensive range of services, from strategic maintenance planning to short-term technical deployments.
Role:
In this role, you develop electrical drive, energy and automation systems for technically demanding applications and accompany their implementation from conception to commissioning. You analyse technical requirements, develop innovative system solutions and support projects with sound calculations, simulations and measurements. You work closely with internal departments, external partners and customers and accompany the introduction of new technologies directly on site.
Responsibilities:
Development, design and simulation of electrical, electronic and automated systems as well as control solutions
Conceptualisation of innovative drive, power supply and electrification concepts including alternative energy solutions
Execution and evaluation of measurements, analyses and technical investigations for system validation
Preparation of feasibility analyses, technical calculations and concept studies for complex energy systems
Development of circuit documentation, technical documentation, installation plans and system schematics
Technical support for commissioning, system tests and integrations in collaboration with customers, suppliers and project partners
Support in the optimisation, further development and technical maintenance of existing system solutions
Qualifications:
Completed studies as an electrical engineer FH/ETH specialising in drive technology, energy technology, automation or a comparable field
Experience in automation, system or integration technology as well as handling sensors and actuators
Knowledge in measurement technology, data analysis and technical validation of complex systems
Confident use of engineering and simulation tools, for example Engineering Base, MATLAB, Scilab, Python, Automation Studio or Step7
Solid knowledge of electrical machines, control engineering and electrical design and calculation methods
Enjoyment in developing innovative technical solutions and working in interdisciplinary teams
Willingness to undertake multi-day business trips within Switzerland and Europe
Good English skills; additional foreign languages are an advantage
Fluent German skills
