Head of Civil Engineering (m/f/d)
Salary - CHF120,000 - 125,000Role:
On behalf of our client, we are looking for an experienced professional as Head of Civil Engineering for a public administration in the canton of Aargau. You will take on the technical responsibility for municipal civil and infrastructure engineering and accompany projects from planning through tendering to realisation and acceptance. In addition to project management, budgeting and cost control, you will support the construction administration with technical questions and conduct construction inspections for private and public projects. The position offers the opportunity to further develop the civil engineering area technically and actively shape key issues of municipal infrastructure.
Responsibilities:
Technical leadership and coordination of municipal civil engineering and infrastructure projects across all relevant project phases
Project support and management of external engineering offices, specialist planners, utility companies and construction firms
Responsibility for budgeting, investment planning, cost control and project controlling in the civil engineering area
Planning and support of projects in the areas of road construction, utility lines, drainage and public infrastructure
Support of the construction administration with technical questions in building permit procedures
Execution and documentation of construction inspections for private and public construction projects
Verification of compliance with building permits, conditions and technical requirements during construction
Technical advice to clients, architects, engineering offices and other specialist planners
Support of tendering, submission and awarding procedures for municipal infrastructure projects
Preparation of project applications, reports, decision bases and technical statements for administration and authorities
Ensuring the application of relevant SIA and VSS standards as well as cantonal and municipal regulations
Participation in the development and further development of processes and standards in municipal civil engineering
Qualifications:
Degree as civil engineer FH/ETH, civil engineering technician HF, specialist in geomatics or comparable technical qualification
Several years of professional experience in civil and infrastructure engineering, ideally with experience in public administration
Sound knowledge in project management, cost control and municipal civil engineering projects
Experience in road construction, utility line construction, drainage and/or development planning
Knowledge of tendering procedures as well as SIA and VSS standards and Swiss planning and construction processes
Experience with building permit procedures, construction inspections and official processes is an advantage
Very good German language skills for reports, applications, statements and technical documentation
