About the job
What you will do here
- Take on an important key role directly with the director and help shape the strategic development of HKB in the area of fundraising
- Acquire funds for scholarships and university activities, support research in obtaining third-party funding, and further develop existing funding instruments
- Build structures and processes as well as identify and win potential donors, patrons, and sponsors
- Develop long-term financial support relationships with private individuals, companies, and institutions and establish and expand a "Friends of HKB" circle
- Monitor the Swiss foundation landscape, identify suitable funding foundations, and coordinate and prepare funding applications together with the research department and the HKB faculties
- Design and organise events for supporters and other interested parties
What you ideally bring with you
- Completed university degree and several years of proven experience in fundraising, ideally in the cultural, educational, or higher education sector, as well as in project planning and project management
- Existing, well-established network in Bern and Switzerland and enthusiasm to use it purposefully and actively
- Sound knowledge of the Swiss foundation and funding landscape as well as a strong understanding of art and culture
- Confident German language skills in spoken and written form (level C2), very good negotiation-level French skills (level C1), and strong communication and storytelling skills
