Road Maintenance Foreman/-woman
Department of Civil Engineering | 80–100 % | Davos Frauenkirch
The Department of Civil Engineering is responsible for the planning, construction, maintenance and operation of the cantonal roads as well as water engineering and slow traffic in Graubünden. In addition, we take care of the operational maintenance of the national roads within the canton. The canton’s road infrastructure includes over 1,450 civil engineering structures, including bridges at dizzying heights of up to 90 metres and tunnels up to 3 kilometres long. The challenges posed by the nature of our mountain canton in summer and winter make our work demanding and varied. We are looking for a Road Maintenance Foreman/-woman for the Road Maintenance Department in District 5 Davos from 1 September 2026 or by arrangement.
- Leading and organising a maintenance team as well as actively working within the team
- Responsibility for carrying out operational maintenance on the assigned road section as well as monitoring the road condition and road facilities
- Organisation and deployment planning of summer and winter services
- Organisation of clean-up and repair work after accidents or natural events
- Providing on-call service (summer and winter)
- Completed vocational training in the construction trade
- Additional training as a foreman/-woman or equivalent further education
- Manual dexterity and economical handling of equipment, machines and materials
- Organisational talent, enjoyment of teamwork, personnel management and administrative tasks (preparing deployment and holiday plans)
- Good IT user skills
- Driving licence category C is an advantage
