Role:
For a Swiss industrial and manufacturing company in the Bern region, we are looking for an experienced professional who feels at home in financial accounting and enjoys taking responsibility for several companies. The company develops and produces technical solutions for the construction and infrastructure environment and combines industrial manufacturing with a project-oriented business.
The position offers a varied mix of operational accounting, support with financial statements and system-related tasks. In addition to ongoing accounting, you will work closely with internal project managers and thus gain direct insight into the company’s economic processes.

Responsibilities:
You ensure the correct management of ongoing financial accounting for several companies.
You check, code and reliably process creditor invoices.
In the debtor area, you post incoming payments and keep an eye on outstanding receivables.
You independently manage dunning and clarify discrepancies directly with the relevant contacts.
You regularly reconcile bank accounts and other balance sheet items.
You handle intercompany transactions and ensure consistency between the companies.
You prepare VAT returns on time and check the underlying postings.
You actively support monthly and annual financial statements and independently take on defined closing tasks.
You compile financial documents, reconciliations and other evidence for external audits.
You carefully maintain master data, price lists and finance-relevant information in the systems used.
You support project managers and internal departments with accounting and financial administrative issues.
You contribute your own optimisation ideas to the further development of ERP, document and finance processes.
Qualifications:
Commercial basic training with initial or completed further education in finance and accounting, fiduciary or accounting
Several years of professional experience in a financial accounting role
Confident handling of debtor, creditor and general ledger topics
Experience with VAT returns and account reconciliations
Knowledge in preparation or participation in monthly and annual financial statements
Experience with intercompany processes is an advantage
Very good Excel skills and confident use of digital financial systems
Knowledge of SAP is especially welcome
Experience with document management solutions such as ELO is an additional plus
Strong affinity for numbers and good understanding of economic contexts
Independent, structured and reliable working style
Enjoyment of a finance function that connects accounting with operational business
