Research Internship PEERS, ATR!Sk and Standard Diagnostics

Are you interested in child and adolescent psychiatry and the interface between clinic and research? Would you like to get to know the daily research routine of scientists? Our team in the research department of the University Clinic for Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and Psychotherapy is looking for an intern (a) to support the projects "PEERS", ATR!Sk (Outpatient Clinic for Risk Behaviour and Self-Harm) and "Standard Diagnostics". The "PEERS" project investigates whether an additional intervention by peers, i.e. former patients, before the start of therapy promotes positive treatment expectations and reduces stigma. The "ATR!Sk" project examines the longitudinal development of risky and self-harming behaviours in adolescents aged 12 to 17, with the aim of better understanding these behaviours and evaluating the effectiveness of the treatment programmes offered. Finally, the "Standard Diagnostics" project focuses on the investigation of treatment courses (effectiveness, (un)desired effects of interventions and their influencing factors) of patients in the (partial) inpatient treatment setting. During the internship, you will actively participate in the implementation of these studies and gain insight into the principles of clinical evaluation studies. In addition, you can gain in-depth experience in research data management as well as in communication with patients and peer staff. A master’s thesis in our department is possible afterwards.

Your tasks

• You support the study and project management with organisational tasks and coordinate ongoing study processes
• You record and check research data, monitor study processes and ensure data quality
• You assist in recruiting study participants and in questionnaire management in close cooperation with the project teams
• You research and prepare diagnostic instruments and work on French-language translations as well as other study materials

Your profile

• You have a completed Bachelor’s degree in Psychology
• You have very good German language skills, both spoken and written
• You have good French language skills and are confident in handling French-language texts
• You work reliably, carefully and independently
• You enjoy working in a team and at the same time take on responsibility independently
• The internship is unpaid
