The Vernand FoundationAt the heart of schools, towns and villages in the canton of Vaud, we support the daily development of more than 600 children and adults with intellectual disabilities, pervasive developmental disorders, and autism spectrum disorders.

To contribute to our inclusive goals and ensure the well-being, health and quality of life of residents, we are looking to complete the Technical Maintenance service with a:
Technical Operations Agent (M/F) - 50% Permanent Contract
Context
The maintenance service consists of four trained employees responsible for the overall management of the Foundation’s logistical resources: buildings, green spaces, sports facilities, vehicles, etc.
To ensure a quality, responsive and local service, we prioritise hiring employees living within a maximum radius of 45-60 minutes from the Vernand Centre in Cheseaux-sur-Lausanne (head office).
Your mission
- Guarantee and carry out preventive measures in the technical maintenance of buildings, their installations and equipment, specifically for the Childhood and Transitions sector.
- Follow up intervention requests issued by teams (all kinds of repairs) in coordination with the maintenance manager and a team of 3 people, and carry out various related repairs (electricity, plumbing, carpentry, etc.) including adapted furniture for people with reduced mobility (beds, wheelchairs, etc.)
- Contribute to the maintenance of the vehicle fleet
- Contribute to the management of green spaces
- Organise logistics for internal and external events and participate in their smooth running
- Be responsible alongside the safety officer for all safety aspects of the environment
- Make contacts and collaborate with various existing suppliers and service providers
We require from you
- A Federal VET Diploma as an operations agent ideally, or any other Federal VET Diploma in the building sector and 5-7 years’ experience in technical building management (not concierge work)
- Category B driving licence mandatory
- Experience in maintaining socio-educational establishments, school buildings, medico-social establishments and/or sports facilities
- Usual computer skills with good ability to write explanatory notes
- Flexibility in time management and in covering for team members, as well as the ability to manage priorities – there are occasionally 2 evening or weekend events per year.
- Knowledge of standards and procedures in the field, ability to ensure compliance with hygiene and safety prescriptions and measures
- A strong sense of service, eagerness to learn, interest in manual work and a sense of responsibility
