Research Scientist – Organic Chemistry (x2)

About the position

We are recruiting two Research Scientists in organic chemistry to join an R&D team based in Stein.

You will be responsible for planning and carrying out organic syntheses, optimising synthetic routes, and characterising compounds, while ensuring rigorous documentation and compliance with safety standards.

Your responsibilities

• Plan and independently perform multi-step organic syntheses.
• Develop and optimise synthetic routes considering scale-up criteria.
• Purify compounds using appropriate techniques.
• Characterise synthesised products and assess their purity.
• Conduct and document risk assessments in accordance with HSE procedures.
• Ensure rigorous scientific documentation.
• Present research results both in writing and orally.
• Collaborate with research teams on various projects.

Your profile

• Master’s or PhD in organic chemistry or equivalent discipline.
• Experience in multi-step organic synthesis and reaction optimisation.
• Proficiency in purification and characterisation techniques (HPLC, NMR, crystallisation, flash chromatography).
• Good understanding of reaction mechanisms.
• Autonomous, rigorous, organised, and results-oriented individual.
• Good team spirit and communication skills.
• Fluent English, both written and spoken.
