The municipal works department of Baar ensures that around 25,000 residents feel comfortable in their community - day after day and in all weather conditions.
Our team of around 25 employees takes care of everything that keeps Baar lively and functional:
This includes the municipal roads and paths, playgrounds and sports facilities, green spaces and parks, the sewer system, and winter services.

In road maintenance, we ensure daily that Baar remains safe, well-kept, and a pleasant place to live. Whether on roads, squares, or paths - together we get stuck in and actively shape the local appearance. With modern vehicles, versatile machines, and a strong team, we make a visible contribution every day to the high quality of life in Baar.

Employee Road Maintenance Workload 80 – 100 %

What you can achieve

• Maintenance and care of the municipal road, footpath, and hiking trail network.

• Execution of minor construction, repair, and maintenance work on municipal facilities and properties.

• Safe and efficient operation and handling of modern municipal machines, vehicles, and work equipment.

• Support of the works team in diverse tasks for a well-kept and functioning local appearance.

• Setting up signage and support with traffic diversions for construction sites, events, and special occasions.

• Deployments in winter services and on-call duty for a safe traffic environment.

• Support in summer on-call duty and assistance with extraordinary events and deployments.

• Support, preparation, and execution of municipal events, if necessary also outside regular working hours.

What you bring with you

• Completed vocational training as a road construction worker, municipal maintenance specialist, gardener, forester, farmer, or in a related manual profession.
• You hold a category B driving licence and enjoy working in a team.
• You maintain a friendly and pleasant manner with customers.
• You reside in Baar or nearby (on-call duty).
